Oh woah. It’s been a real whirlwind of a month so far here at All Things New.
We currently have 30 machines in the service bay, 47 waiting on pickup after service, and had another 18 picked up since July 1
Sheesh! That seems like more when I write it out!
We are currently working at 10-15 days from drop off. If you had a machine dropped off longer than three weeks ago and haven’t picked it back up, please give us a call to check it’s status. I run out of space to store finished machines every week.
You may have noticed a couple extra friends when you come to drop off or pick up.
Gracie is our apprentice. She has moved up to a part time tech position.
She’s been working with us since the beginning but she’s been slowly working on being here in a more permanent position. We’re honored to get to have her with us.
Gracie speaks a number of different languages and spent time teaching English as a second language. She just made her first swimsuit!!! Ask her to show you! We’re so proud of her.

Quilt Folk!!! Y’all, we’re published in QUILTFOLK! Issue 35, Virginia! How crazy is that?
When they contacted us about interviews in early April we’d been opened for just a few weeks. We weren’t sure they’d have enough to even say about us.
Thank you to Rebecca and Azuree and Trevor for letting us have the platform to talk about what we’re doing here in RVA. It’s been an honor to represent Virginian fiber art in this way. You can find a link to purchase the issue https://www.quiltfolk.com/
Single issues are available on their website

If you go to our main website Allthingsnewsewing.com we’ve integrated our event calendar on the main page. You’ll see this little calendar

Click on it! Or below it on the Join us button! It’ll show you what we’re up to this month.
Next event is Saturday New to Sergers 2-4pm and there are a couple of open seats for that still. As always if you have trouble checking out on eventbrite for any class, call or stop in. We can sign you up and you can pay cash or card at the door. I certainly understand that technology is not my own favorite thing and I mess this up sometimes.
I’d apologize, but I won’t. I’m busy fixing your machines. The website is definitely my afterthought. But I’m giving it a good try to keep it right.
Workshop teachers:
We brought on two new instructors this summer. Amanda Campbell https://www.amandacfashion.com/
Is a fashion designer and consultant here in RVA. She teaches at a number of other art centers and was a great teacher with our kid’s camp. She’ll be a regular contributor to our classes. We’re so glad she loves us.

Amanda’s next class is July 21st at 4pm. We’ll be working on upcycling dress shirts! It’s going to be a blast.

Speaking of kids, we have a free learn to sew event for kids on July 26th. It’s a drop in event https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1425991933259?aff=oddtdtcreator to make raven pin cushions. There are multiple start times throughout the day. It’s a free event but we’d like for you to sign up to make sure we’ve got the time to help your kiddos learn and grow.
Local artist Sue Lanigan is one of our favorite friends. She’s well known for her visible mending and is bringing this class in a four hour session to us!!!

She’ll be teaching a multitude of different techniques and ideas in one setting and you don’t want to miss it. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1425993808869?aff=oddtdtcreator

As always we’re so glad you’re watching and helping us grow!
