It’s MAY!!!
Hey friends,
We’re so excited to get to sew with you another month.
This month is full of adventures and we can’t wait to see what you do with us!
Our current wait time on machine service is still 7-10 business days and we currently have 21 machines in cue.
Classes are expanding this month, so expect a few updates when we add more fun things!
We opened Open Sew afternoons a couple days at the end of April and we were so blessed to spend some time with you guys! Be sure to watch our Eventbrite link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/106809794261 Next Open Sew is the 10th. Bring your project and just enjoy a day of sewing or crafting with your friends.
This weekend we have a few spots left for our Featherweight maintenance class “New To Featherweights” on Saturday at 2pm.
This class covers top to bottom care of your Featherweight, some cool history lessons and lots and lots of hands-on cleaning of your favorite machine. If you do not have a Singer Featherweight 221, 222, or 301 you can borrow one of ours for this class to decide if you’d like to buy one later. No maintenance experience needed!

Also on Saturday the 3rd, we have our amazing Paperpiecing class from 4-6pm. There are very few spots left in this class. We learn how to English paperpiece by hand and machine, and foundation paperpiece. This is one of Molly’s favorite subjects and you will leave wanting to keep every scrap of fabric in the universe.
We tucked four “New to” classes into the middle of May. If you’ve been wanting to learn or have a friend you’d love to see sew, sign up for one of these classes!
Our first new to sewing kids’ class is booked for the 17th. If you want to see what kid’s camp is going to be like, come out for this class! Your kiddos are going to have a blast. They need no experience and they don’t even need to bring a machine.
We have a second new to sewing 101/102 together class on the 18th with Mocha Moms Inc. There are a few public spots left for that event. You’ll get to learn about what Mocha Moms is all about and how to sew at the same time.
Kids camps are booked from June to August. They are one week at a time and four hours a day. See the eventbrite link for details. We can’t wait to see what Amanda and Charity and your kiddos make this summer.
Sewsnips, our warehouse partner, is moving to an online ONLY model after this Saturday (May 3rd). Blake is moving about six feet deeper into our warehouse, and closing his public shop (at least for now). We will still partner on some of our class projects and kid camps, but he will be selling from the website only otherwise. Check him out at sewsnips.com
Be sure to come out this weekend and help him by buying most of his fabric so he doesn’t have to move as much!
Last bit of super awesome news!!!!!
We are now Richmond’s only Necchi dealers.

Necchi has a long history of well built machines. It’s long been a favorite of both Molly and Charity. We searched for a machine manufacturer that was affordable and built well that we could suggest when there isn’t a way to save your machines in a service, or when you just want something new, and decided this week to take the plunge and accept a dealership offer with Necchi US.
Machines will be here Monday of next week and we’re excited to play with them. We’ll start adding them to the website this month but they should be ready to play with some time next week in store. We felt that their designs are great, their price point is acceptable, and the company has a great longstanding reputation. We hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we have. We still promise not to upsell you on your services. Our goal will always be to support your machines in the best way possible but if you’re in the market for a new machine, please consider a test drive here first. You’re supporting a dream and the community we continue to build here at All Things New.
Continue to create, Friends!!!
We sure are honored to continue to serve you, RVA.
Molly and Charity
